A couple weeks ago in the Oak Hammock area there was an estimated 400,000 birds in there. I've been getting geese like crazy it's been great. Also there are tons of snows this year haven't seen this many snows now for a couple of years. Not alot of ducks because of the lack of rain this summer so not many locals. It's starting to get cold here now so more and more northerns are starting to roll in! We had are first snowfall this week, hopefully that's it untill November at least.

Here's a picture of some snows from a hunt a couple of weeks ago up by Westburn, Manitoba and a hunt from last friday just inside the city on a bean field with my Dad. Thanks again for the calling cd, it really helped me out this year. Good luck with your season this year and keep in touch.

Manitoba Youth Hunt 2006

Buck,
We just finished our 2006 Oak Hammock Youth hunt up here in Manitoba. I just wanted to express my thanks for the calls which I received last year. The kids loved them….kept blowing them all night long. I showed them the video of you and John’s calling demos from 2003 and they were very impressed with the instruction provided. I told them if any of them could call like either of you they could take me out hunting anytime!

The hunt was extremely successful; the 20 kids harvested 41 Canada’s and a mallard. The attached picture is of our group at the end of the morning…we were all pretty wet as it decided to finally rain 1.5 inches over the course of the hunt.

I understand that you won’t be coming up to Manitoba this year, so I wanted to thank you again for all your support of youth hunting in Manitoba and many other jurisdictions. You are truly a Champion of Champions!

I will be sending more pictures soon!

Straight shooting!
